About AI Image Layers

Why this product exists

AI image generators are good at producing finished pictures, but a finished raster image is often a dead end for production work. Moving one subject, changing one label, replacing a background, or preparing depth planes can mean rebuilding the composition by hand.

AI Image Layers focuses on that post-generation gap. The product turns a JPG, PNG, or WebP into a proposed stack of transparent RGBA layers that can be inspected before export.

What the product does

The current workflow uses a configured Qwen Image Layered inference provider to propose semantic image layers. The service filters empty results, displays the remaining layers individually, and packages useful outputs as named PNG files with a manifest and handoff notes.

The export is intentionally portable. PNG layer files can continue into Photoshop, Photopea, Affinity Photo, Figma, Canva, motion tools, or a normal asset folder.

What the product does not claim

• It does not recover the exact hidden source project used to create an image.
• It does not convert rasterized lettering into live font layers.
• It does not currently generate a native PSD file.
• It cannot guarantee perfect reconstruction behind every overlapping object.
• It does not present demo fallback files as real model output.

Clear subjects and graphic compositions generally separate more cleanly than dense photography, hair, glass, smoke, or scenes with many overlapping objects. The preview-first workflow exists so every user can judge the actual result.

How we evaluate usefulness

We look beyond whether an API request completed. Useful separation means that a person can inspect distinct image parts, identify which files are reusable, and continue a real editing or handoff task. Product feedback, processing success, preview interaction, and voluntary downloads are measured separately so technical success is not confused with user value.
