ChatGPT image generation can quickly produce posters, ad concepts, illustrations, and product visuals. The result is usually a flat file, which becomes restrictive when the image is approved but one element still needs to change.
AI Image Layers creates a new semantic separation from the visible image. It can propose a background, main subject, text or badge candidates, and shadow or lighting passes.
Current export: a Layer ZIP containing named PNG files and a manifest. It does not currently create a native PSD or editable font layers.
Step-by-step workflow
- Download the ChatGPT-generated image at the best available quality.
- Upload the image and create a free preview.
- Inspect each proposed PNG layer separately.
- Download the ZIP only if the result contains useful parts.
- Import the files into Photoshop, Figma, Canva, or another editor.
- Replace rasterized copy with real typography when editable text is required.

What affects separation quality
Clear silhouettes, simple backgrounds, and separated visual planes tend to be easier to reuse. Overlapping objects, glass, smoke, fine hair, dense photography, and text blended into an illustration can require manual cleanup.
Because the source is flat, the system cannot recover information that was never visible. A large hidden background area may need generative fill, cloning, or painting after the PNG layers are imported into an editor.
Layer ZIP versus asking for another generation
Generate again when the entire concept is wrong. Separate the existing image when the composition is already valuable and the problem is local: position, background, copy, shadow, or handoff. The latter preserves more of the approved image and gives the designer concrete assets to continue with.

Does this edit the image inside ChatGPT?
No. It is a post-generation workflow. Upload the finished file to AI Image Layers, then continue editing the exported PNG layers in your preferred tool.
Is the text editable?
Text-like content may be separated as a raster image layer. It does not become a font or editable text object automatically.
Do I receive a PSD?
